Rules & Regulations

1. Eligibility

Open to students in grades 9–12. Max 5 students per invited institution. One IT staff may assist in judging.

2. Registration Fee

0 ETB per student (non-returnable :)). Covers refreshments, materials, and admin. Payment instructions follow confirmation.

3. Event Format

Three-day event. Daily group pairings. Web app project based on daily topics. 6 hours per day to develop and present. Judged individually.

4. Judging Criteria

  • User Interface (UI) Design
  • Functionality and Performance
  • Originality and Creativity
  • Code Quality and Organization
  • Team Collaboration and Contribution

5. Tiebreaker Round

If there's a tie: A debugging challenge will be held. Winners are chosen based on correct solution and efficiency.

6. Code of Conduct

  • No AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot)
  • Internet allowed for reference only
  • Plagiarism results in disqualification
  • Bring your own laptop
  • Respect your group members

7. Equipment & Software

Bring laptops & peripherals. Organizers provide: internet, power, browsers, VS Code. Use HTML/CSS/JS only.

8. Awards & Recognition

Top 5 scorers receive prizes and certificates. All participants receive a certificate of participation.

9. Code of Ethics

Collaboration encouraged. Respect peers, judges, and rules. Misconduct results in expulsion and school penalties.

10. Other Notes

Submit before the day ends. Each student will get a unique ID for tracking. Judges’ decisions are final.
